Dr. Kissell is an Altoona native and graduated from Altoona Area High School in 2002. He completed his undergraduate degree at Juniata College where he graduated summa cum laude in biology. He continued his veterinary education at the University of Pennsylvania where he graduated in May 2010. Dr. Kissell rejoins the staff at Lakemont Veterinary Clinic as an associate veterinarian where he had previously worked during summer vacations throughout his education. His veterinary interests include emergency and critical care and ophthalmology.
Dr. Kissell resides just outside Altoona on his family's small farm where he takes care of his two horses (Santana, and Shiloh) and two pygmy goats (Lucy and Lena). He has a recent canine addition to the family, a one-year-old Boxer aptly named Rocky.
In Dr. Kissell's spare time, he enjoys spending time with his friends at Raystown Lake, family functions, and Penn State and Steeler football games. Dr. Kissell lives his life by one quote, "Don't sweat the small things!"
