Born in Greensburg, PA, Dr. Denise Nickodemus graduated first in her class from Washington and Jefferson College in 1995 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology.  She earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from The Ohio State University in 1999, and began working at Lakemont Veterinary Clinic that same year.  Her interests in veterinary medicine include animal behavior, soft tissue surgery, and preventive medicine.

Dr. Nickodemus enjoys training and competing with her two Golden Retrievers, Alex and Gryffin, in obedience, rally, and agility.  She shares her home in Altoona with one geriatric, special needs cat as well.  In her free time, she relaxes by reading all types of fiction, knitting, quilting, and gardening.
